Nancy and Scott - October 7, 2006

Sometimes less is more. Both having been married before, the most important factor for this couple was to have an informal celebration where the main focus was to be placed on the “party” and not the usual wedding fare. They wanted good food, good wine, good music and aside from that, didn’t really have strong feelings about anything else. Time was of the essence with only ten weeks to plan.

This early evening event took place at the home of close friends where Camelback Mountain provided a breathtaking backdrop. Nancy (looking gorgeous in a burgundy gown she purchased only three days before the wedding) and Scott mingled with everyone in a pre-ceremony cocktail hour. Family and friends posed for photos, wrote warm wishes in the couple’s wedding scrapbook, nibbled on jamone (Spanish ham) served with honeydew melon, and sipped champagne before joining the bride and groom for a group photo immediately before the exchange of vows.

The minister presiding over the ceremony was none other than the bride’s father and included readings from her mother and one of her sisters. After sealing the deal with a kiss, Nancy and Scott lead their guests in a dance down the aisle to their favorite Lyle Lovett tune, marking the beginning of the real fun. After a Mediterranean dinner was served by candlelight and topped off with a scrumptious vanilla and chocolate-layered raspberry rum cake, everyone danced the night away to tunes played from the couple’s I-pod.
